Brave Minds is the flagship mental health support programme delivered by the British charity FIRE AID and International Development.
For more than a decade, FIRE AID has supported Ukrainian rescuers with vehicles, equipment, and training. Brave Minds builds on this work by focusing on the people behind the uniform—providing dedicated psychological support to those facing sustained operational pressure.
The programme offers confidential one-to-one online therapy, access to a 24/7 crisis support line delivered by Lifeline Ukraine, and a range of practical self-help resources, all tailored to the needs of Ukrainian firefighters and rescuers. Services are delivered by qualified Ukrainian psychologists and designed to be accessible, flexible, and independent.
Ukrainian rescuers continue to respond to complex and high-risk incidents, often in challenging and unpredictable environments. Supporting their mental health is essential not only for individual wellbeing, but for maintaining an effective and resilient emergency response system.
Brave Minds represents FIRE AID’s ongoing commitment to the resilience, wellbeing, and long-term sustainability of Ukraine’s emergency services.
